The International Solar Alliance will be hosting the First World Solar Technology Summit on a virtual platform, with a focus on new Technologies and Innovations in the field of Solar, on 8 September 2020 during 16:30 – 21:00 IST I 11:00- 16:00 GMT . The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the First World Solar Technology Summit . Hon’ble Ministers from several ISA Member Countries, High level dignitaries, Nobel laureates, Senior Government Functionaries, Heads of Global Corporations, Financial, Multilateral and leading Scientific & Research Institutions, Civil Society, Foundations, Think-Tanks and other stakeholders will also grace the occasion.
The objective of the ISA First World Solar Technology Summit (WSTS) will be to bring the spotlight on state-of-the-art technologies as well as next-generation technologies which will provide impetus to the growth and propagation of Solar Energy globally. The Summit will provide a global platform for stakeholders to engage on innovations in technology that will catapult the world towards a high Solar growth trajectory. The event will be streamed in four languages namely English, French, Spanish, and Arabic to the registered attendees.
Nobel Laureate Dr. M. Stanley Whittingham will be presenting the Keynote Address during the Inaugural Ceremony. Dr. M. Stanley Whittingham was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (jointly with John B Goodenough & Akira Yoshino) in 2019 for the revolutionizing discovery of the lithium ion batteries. A power packed session is to follow with CEOs of top global corporations who have made pathbreaking progress in implementing and scaling up solar technologies.
